TVTI Embarks on ABET Accreditation Journey with an Official Launch Ceremony.
ABET, the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, offering degree programs and training in engineering and technology disciplines.
In remarks delivered during the launching event, Dr. Biruk Kedir, Director General, FDRE TVT Institute, affirmed that the institute remains focused and diligent in its efforts to uphold academic quality standards.
Designating this budget year as the “Year of Quality,” Dr. Biruk detailed the implementation of various quality assurance methodologies. He highlighted the Institute’s successful acquisition of the ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2024 as a key milestone.
The Director General announced the formal launching of the process for ABET accreditation, a strategic move designed to bolster the institute’s international competitiveness.
Dr. Biruk emphasized that the value of the ABET process extends beyond the final outcome; the process provides a vital framework for institutional self-assessment.
He noted it helps to identify current workshops standing, scrutinize training methodologies, and facilitate.
The strategic roadmap developed by the institute for achieving this accreditation was presented by Fitsum Girma, chief of staff.
He confirmed that the institute has established a dedicated task force and is leveraging best practices and experiences shared from AASTU and BDU that have accredited ABET.
Dr. Abreham Debebe, Vice President of the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU), delivered a training session to attendees.
Vice Deputy Directors Generals, Academic Directors, Faculty Deans, Department Heads, and Executives participated in launching session.
