1. Review and develop Curriculum and Training materials

2. Make study on curriculum, training materials, market demand, and advancement

3. Deliver training on Curriculum and Training materials to capacitate developers

4. Assess the performance of the curriculum and training materials in delivering the objectives

5. Develop Curriculum and Training materials supporting documents, guidelines, and standards

6. Formulate relations with industries, bureaus, international organizations and other supporting stakeholders

purpose

The center for curriculum development and study is in charge of the responsibilities are curriculum and training materials development, curriculum and training materials research, vocational pedagogy, assessment, and capacity building on curriculum. Thus;
1. Curriculum Development
Consequently; with regard to curriculum development, the center is deemed to:
• Assist the development and periodic review of curriculum based on labor market demand analysis.
• Digitize curriculum and training materials
• Coordinate and participate in adaptation, modification or further development of new curriculum materials.
• Lead periodical revision of Curriculum and Teaching Training and Learning Materials (TTLMs)
• Work and connect TVTI with institutions, curriculum standardization organizations, and industries on issues of curricular development, implementation, & evaluation
• Organize workshops to bring on board TVT institutions, industries, TVET bureaus, standard agencies and other concerned stakeholders
• Design professional development models/programs for TVET trainers and leaders
• Set standard of practice that are helpful to develop/revise Curriculum and TTLMs
• Coordinate the review/assessment of current curriculum to ensure that course/program is meeting intended objectives and requirements.
• Identify and lead a team of trainers who will assist in curriculum development.
• Cooperate with stakeholders for fund raising
2. Curriculum Research
In view of this, the curriculum center will discharge the following responsibilities,
i) Conduct research that could ensure relevance of Curriculum and training materials with respect to local and international interest
ii) Evaluate the effectiveness of existing Curricula, standards and competency assessment package considering the labor market dynamics
iii) Supply knowledge driven evidences to periodically update curricula based on labor market demands
iv) Study, document, and disseminate local knowledge that are potential areas of future TVTI
v) Work on research-based instructional designs, cooperative and company-based training modalities to incorporate to curriculum
vi) Document and disseminate curriculum knowledge, case studies and exemplar works to practitioners
vii) Recommend new training programs on the bases of labor market information; while it suggest to terminate supply of graduates on programs of massive overflow
3. Providing Training
In this regard, the center is responsible to accomplish the following routines,
i) Provide Training on curriculum and vocational pedagogy using skilled professionals with curriculum research, curriculum development, and evaluation specific to the TVTI
ii) Provide hands-on training methods and workplace training for TVTI trainers, industry trainers, departments to perform curriculum, and to those who are responsible to set standards,
iii) Produce prototype simulations and virtual lessons on skill training to assist TVIT training
iv) Facilitate and provide periodic support for the establishment of institutions that provide further training for TVTI staffs
v) Provide training in pursue opportunities to learn best practices in curriculum professional development through research, professional development, and other learning opportunities.
vi) Provide training in-class support and coaching to trainers using designated curricula,
4. Perform Assessment
In this regard the center is responsible to:
i) Periodically analyze curriculum and materials and suggest improvement areas
ii) Formulate proper assessment methods of courses, entry and exit assessment modalities tailored to the TVET sector and industry
iii) Collect and document exemplary assessment practices to be scaled-up into sector wide implementation
