Public Relations and Communications Directorate
Background
Public Relations and Communications Affairs Directorate started to function as one working unit in the Institute since 2008 E.C. This happened as the Ethiopian Civil Service Commission in collaboration with the Government Communications Secretariat, issued all sectors to form the PR and Communications unit. About eight officers and specialists came across this Directorate since its formation. Now (May 2024) a director, a communication officer and an audiovisual expert are taking the communication duties along with people who help the activities from another section.
Objectives
The Public Relations and Communications Affairs Directorate in the Institute is formed to build the image of the Institute positively to internal and external communities in general and more specifically to take the role of:
- The communication facilitator,
- The problem-solving process facilitator,
- The expert prescriber,
- Media relations,
- Communication and liaison,
- Managing social media, events, print materials, issues, crisis, employee relations etc,
- Collet data and analyze,
- Disseminate information,
- Make documentation,
- monitor and evaluator,
- advertising, etc
