The 4th international skill, technology and research competition, technology exhibition organized by the Ministry of Labor and Skill in collaboration with the Institute of Technical and Vocational Training has started taking place in the institute.
The FDRE deputy prime minister Mr. Temesgen Tiruneh who officially launched the competition has said that the patriotism of the era is to eradicate poverty and backwardness and ensure holistic prosperity.
Believing that skill development is essential for the growth and prosperity of our country, the work we have done in the past years of change has enabled us to produce creatively mature bright minds, open hands and citizens who are qualified with their skills.
Just like Ethiopia had brave patriots who kept its sovereignty by defeating the invading enemy; today they have qualified professionals who use the power of expertise and skills to modernize our agriculture, who are crucial for the growth of industry, who make the tourism sector successful and speed up digitalization.
The minister of work and skills Mrs. Muferihat Kamil said that the competition is not just a competition but the technical and vocational sector has developed a system to make the transition of technology a reality.
This competition is a program where we meet and produce modern Adwa engineers.
The honorable minister who expressed that she is comfortable with the creative products selected after the competition will be developed more and more into a variety of products
They recalled that the innovations found in the 3rd international competition were developed and many technologists were able to produce.
The competition will involve more than 250 citizens and the quality of the competition has improved from the previous competitions said the honorable minister.
What makes the fourth Ethio-skill competition special is that there is 22 skills competition and more than 70 problem solving technologies are on display, the honorable minister said.
The competition with the theme “Bright minds, job-worthy citizens” is being held for six consecutive days at the EFDR Technical and Vocational Training Institute.
